| Recommended the surface preparation
of welded area of pipeline is SIS-055900-SA2.5, PE or
FBE abrading. |
Remove dust of the surface
and both side on which sleeve will be overlapped |
| |
| Preheat the surface to 50-70
t) by propane or petroleum gas torch |
Paint the prepared and mixed
two- component epoxy primer on the surface.Sleeve should
be installed immediately after painted. |
| |
| Take the read-to-fit wraparound
sleeve and place the sleeve end centrally over the welding
area at a right angle to the axis of the pipe |
The sleeve should overlap at
least 100mm and overlap at least 50 mm both milled-edges
| |
| Heat the adhesive surface of
closure patch to melt, quickly paste it up the overlap
region |
Continuously heat the pasted
closure patch to ensure the adhesive layer fully melting.
With a gloved hand, smooth the closure patch firmly down
without wrinkles Roll out the closure area with a silicone
roller. |
| |
| Take a medium flame with yellow
tip and keep it constantly moving in a paintbrush motion
around the sleeve at the middle region. |
Roll out the bubble produced
in shrinking process in a silicone roller. In the same
way shrink around sleeve till finished. |
| |
| Continuously shrink in a paint-brush
motion to one of edges of the sleeve. |
After shrunk, adhesive ran
over at both sleeve edges along circumference pipe, appearance
is smooth and has no cold spots or air enclosures. |
